Allison MacMunn (she/her), Program Director
Allison brings 15 years of nonprofit public relations and communications experience to Sunstone, spanning public health, air pollution, climate change, healthcare and nutrition.
Prior to joining Sunstone Strategies, Allison served as national senior director of communications at the American Lung Association, overseeing the national press room, developing a nationwide volunteer medical spokesperson program, and driving nationwide media strategies for campaigns and signature reports.
Whether positioning climate change as a health crisis, building momentum for a transition to electric vehicles or advocating for stronger clean air protections and health equity, Allison has always sought to lead with and amplify the voices of patients and underserved and disenfranchised communities.
She earned a master’s degree in women’s and gender studies from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in English with minors in women’s studies and music from Indiana State University.
Allison lives on Potawatomi land in Chicago with her partner and two daughters.
