Ali Hameed (he/him), Program Associate
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Ali spent nearly four years working at the United States Senate, where he progressively took on additional communications related responsibilities, composing talking points, congressional speeches, op-eds, and press releases.
Ali is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Islam and Interreligious Engagement from Union Theological Seminary. As part of his Masters program, Ali has studied egalitarian interpretations of the Islamic tradition, examined ways communities can come together to advance justice, and delved into scriptural texts. His courses have made him more acutely aware of the systemic biases and injustices in the world, and the urgent need to address them head-on.
Ali currently resides in Jersey City, New Jersey. In his spare time, Ali can be found walking around Lincoln Park, playing cricket, and figuring out which book to read next.
